1. What is www.soccerbase.com?
Soccerbase
is the most comprehensive on-line database of first-class British football.

2. Where does it come from?
This
site's origins lie in the Stamps Soccer Database, which has provided sports data to major British newspapers, TV and radio for the last five years. The underlying database is the engine that drives all the soccer betting stats that appear in The Racing Post and the results pages for The Mirror, The Sunday Mirror, The People and the Belfast Newsletter.

3.What information does it have in it?
The
database contains a huge array of statistics, including:

  • Results for every single league and cup games ever played for all English and Scottish League clubs, including European competitions
  • Complete statistics for every player currently playing in the English leagues
  • Current season statistics for every player currently playing in the Scottish leagues
  • Current season statistics for every English and Scottish League referee
  • All this season’s transfers and loans
  • Statitistics for all English league managers ever
  • Complete teams for all major cup finals

4. What information does it not have in it?
We
do not have the following information in our database (yet):

  • Team information (except cup finals) for matches prior to the season 1996/97
  • Scorers (except English Premier League and cup finals) for matches prior to the season 1996/7
  • Scottish manager information
  • Scottish ground information
  • Comprehensive data on European leagues and clubs

5. What can I do if I see a mistake?
If you have any comments, especially about any mistakes you may see in our data, please
e-mail us at desk@soccerbase.com.

6. How up to date is the data?
Soccerbase
is updated every 15 minutes from our Stamps Soccer database at Mirror Group HQ in Canary Wharf.

7. What technology is used to run the site?
The back end database is Informix Dynamic Server with Universal Data Option.

8. There are lots of soccer sites on the Internet. What can I get from your site that I can't get elsewhere?
This
is the only site on the World Wide Web we are aware of that contains the result of every English and Scottish League and cup match ever played. Also only here can you search this information to find the complete set of results for meetings between any two teams. Updated every 15 minutes, on a Saturday afternoon we believe this site will provide you with the most quick and accurate results and tables for all English and Scottish competitions. And really, is there another soccer website that will tell you about loans between Scottish third division clubs?
