1-5 City still expected to get their man

LIVERPOOL have rejected a second bid for Raheem Sterling, but bookmakers still believe Manchester City will eventually get their man with Ladbrokes rating the England ace 7-2 to remain at Anfield beyond the summer transfer window.

Sterling, who has been the subject of offers in the region of £25m and £40m from City, is 1-5 with Betfair to eventually get the move he has been pushing for.

Few other clubs are seen as being in the race with Chelsea rated 8-1 pokes by Betway to sign Sterling as Liverpool hold out for an eye-watering fee of around £50m for the wantaway 20-year-old.

If the betting is right then Chelsea could be far more likely to get their hands on Charlie Austin with Jose Mourinho’s side clear favourites to sign the QPR forward who won’t want to hang around with the relegated club in the Championship.

Austin is a best-priced 2-1 with Ladbrokes and Betfair to make a sensational switch across the capital to the champions with previous favourites Newcastle out to 4-1.

Blues stalwart Petr Cech is almost certain to join London rivals Arsenal from Chelsea, at least according to the odds with the Czech Republic goalkeeper only 1-10 to end up at the Emirates this summer in a deal that would have to be considered a coup for the Gunners.

One transfer that did go through was Southampton signing right-back Cedric Soares from Lisbon-based outfit Sporting.

Saints were in need of filling that position with Nathaniel Clyne potentially on the move and Ronald Koeman’s men are 11-4 to finish in the Premier League’s top six this season, while they can also be backed at 33-1 with Betfred and Hills to win the Europa League.
