2022 World Cup cut to 1-2 to move from Qatar
THE chances of the 2022 World Cup being hosted in Qatar took another hit on Monday after a Fifa executive committee member said he didn’t think the tournament would take place in the Gulf state, leading bookmakers to react accordingly.
Coral rate the tournament more likely to be moved than not and pushed out the price that Qatar stage the event to 6-4. It’s 1-2 that it takes place elsewhere.
Where the tournament will move to is far from clear, though the USA is considered the likeliest alternative. Hills offer 6-5 that the World Cup goes ahead in Qatar but go 2-1 it’s hosted by the USA and 7-1 that Australia step in. England are dismissed by the firm as 16-1 chances.
