Bayern out to nullify Barcelona's superstars
PEP GUARDIOLA returns home with his Bayern Munich side to take on his former club Barcelona in a mouthwatering Champions League semi-final that sees the Catalans favourites to reach the final and odds-on to win the first leg at Camp Nou.
Injuries have hit Bayern hard in recent weeks, but Guardiola’s biggest headache will be how best to nullify the threat of Barca’s superstar forward line of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar who have combined for 108 goals between them in all competitions this term.
Bet365 make the terrific trio 12-1 to score four or more goals between them in the first leg and 100-30 to fire blanks, while BoyleSports rate Messi 7-2 to notch in both legs.
“If Messi is in top form, no defence can stop him,” said Guardiola in Tuesday’s press conference. “There's is no system to stop Messi. He's too good.”
