Big two on drift after landing repeat draws

CHELSEA and Manchester City sit top of the Premier League but both sides were eased for Champions League success after they were handed tough last-16 draws on Monday.

The Blues take on Paris St-Germain while City face Barcelona and both ties are repeats of last season’s knockout games.

City went out at the hands of Barca at the same stage in their last campaign, losing both legs to go out 4-1 on aggregate. Chelsea took on PSG in the quarter-finals and went through on away goals after losing 3-1 in Paris and winning the second leg 2-0.

City are odds-against to overcome the Catalan side but Chelsea are 1-2 to reach the quarter-finals, while Arsenal are even shorter at 4-11 to progress after they drew Arsene Wenger’s former side Monaco. The Gunners have been cut from 5-1 to 15-8 to progress the furthest of the Premier League clubs.

Bet365 go 6-1 that all three English teams make it through to the last eight – it’s 11-10 that only two of them progress.

Paddy Power have pushed City out from 12-1 to 18-1 following the draw, while Chelsea are 8-1 from 6-1 with Hills. Tournament favourites Bayern Munich and Real Madrid take on Shakhtar Donetsk and Schalke respectively.

Liverpool, 14-1 third-favourites for the Europa League behind Serie A pair Roma and Napoli, were drawn against Besiktas in the last 32, while Everton take on Swiss side Young Boys and 16-1 Tottenham will play Fiorentina.

Mexican side Cruz Azul are 25-1 shots to end Real Madrid's 20-match unbeaten run when the teams meet in the semi-final of the Club World Cup on Tuesday.

A 3-1 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers earned Cruz Azul their crack at the European champions in Morocco.

The match was due to be staged in Rabat but has been moved to Marrakech because of heavy rain.

Copa Libertadores champions San Lorenzo take on Auckland City in Wednesday's second semi-final, and the final takes place on Saturday.

Chesterfield have been ordered to replay their FA Cup second- round fixture against MK Dons after fielding an ineligible player in their 1-0 win on December 6.
