Suarez has too much punch for Spain
SPAIN'S clash with Uruguay has been deemed worthy of BBC1 coverage on Sunday night - presumably because it may well be viewers' only chance to see Luis Suarez all year.
Regardless of whether or not he succeeds in worming his way out of his contract at Liverpool, Suarez probably won't see much other action on the pitch.
Sure, his ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic will be a thing of the past, but I can't help thinking more suspensions will probably come his way.
In fact he missed Uruguay's win over Venezuela on Tuesday night because of a ban. And in endeavouring to find out what that was for - don't think I ever sell you short, dear readers - all I could find was reports of Suarez somehow avoiding a ban for punching a Chile defender when last on international duty.
Suarez's defence on that occasion was that the Chilean had helped himself to a cheeky fondle of his testicles in order to provoke him. For once, I'm on Suarez's side.
Actually I'm on Suarez's side against Spain as well because a forward line of Suarez and Edinson Cavani may just be too hot for Spain to handle.
The Spanish have kept two clean sheets in seven matches - one of which was against Ireland so doesn't count - and Suarez may just have too much punch for them. Or bite. Make up your own punchline.
