It's a fun ride on the
anti-United bandwagon

I’M glad I leapt aboard the anti-United bandwagon for their crushing League Cup defeat to MK Dons, but is it time to get off?

I’m sorry Man U fans, but even you must be able to see that the anti-United bandwagon is a lot of fun.

The Scousers on board are bit rowdy and it is an extremely busy bandwagon – I suppose bandwagons generally are – so surely we’re getting close to the point where United start to represent value?

I keep getting the feeling that the real Manchester United are going to show up pretty soon and tell us they’re glad we’ve all had so much fun watching them fail, but unfortunately they’ve decided to start winning dozens of trophies again.

The idea that Van Gaal is going to struggle to even follow in the footsteps of David Moyes and lead United to a worse season than the last one still feels a bit like wishful thinking from those of us fed up after the club’s dominance under Fergie.

It’s been a good couple of weeks for Moyes, whose stock has risen so high during Van Gaal’s struggles that he’ll probably be linked with the Barcelona job if it carries on like this.

Anyway, Burnley were carved up by Chelsea at Turf Moor on the opening day of the season but I actually rate their defence, who were fantastic in the Championship, so it’s not going to be a pushover for United.

I’m going to back the draw. I don’t want to get off the anti-United bandwagon completely, but reckon they should start to improve. Surely it can’t any better for us/worse for them than this.

Even if the Red Devils improve, they’re still a bit toothless.

Hopefully I won’t be too uncomfortable sitting on the fence, on the edge of my seat, on the side of the anti-United bandwagon.
