Dangerous to presume anything in this game

THE TV bigwigs have learned a valuable lesson as they prepare to show Hull versus West Ham from the KC Stadium on Monday evening.

It’s dangerous to presume anything in the world of football.

I am presuming the match was initially scheduled in the belief Hull would be playing in the Europa League on Thursday and this would be the perfect appetiser before the Tigers would be sent off into continental battle against some unknown side from Eastern Europe.

However, Hull are already out of that competition after losing to some Belgian side I have never heard of instead, and this game now comes on the back of City presumably being in crisis with owner Assem Allam threatening to sell the club and Steve Bruce rumoured to be on his way to Newcastle.

Many people presumed West Ham manager Sam Allardyce would be the first Premier League manager to lose his job but the departure of Tony Pulis from Crystal Palace ruined bets on the sack-race favourite.

The Hammers have started the season slowly with home defeats to Tottenham and Southampton so those who missed out on Big Sam first time around should at least consider going in again on Allardyce being the next boss collecting his P45.

I can’t see Allardyce winning over the West Ham fans at the KC Stadium and I expect this will be as dull as ditchwater with the smart money surely on a stalemate.

It’s dangerous to presume anything in this game but I think we are on safe ground with this being tedious.
