I've got derby delight outside of the top flight

IT’S derby day in the Premier League on Saturday with all eyes supposedly on Liverpool versus Everton and Tottenham’s short trip to Arsenal.

TV executives love a derby.

They love the pride, they love the passion and they love the ferocious tackling but one day they will realise nobody outside of the supporters of each club could care less about Merseyside or north London hostilities.

In fact never mind a derby, TV executives love a bit of Liverpool full stop.

This is their eighth match of the season and it’s the eighth time they have been on my telebox with Brendan Rodgers’ boys getting progressively worse with every match.

Rodgers said his team “were a little bit broken” which is a bit like saying “I’m a little bit fat” or that Everton’s defence is a “little bit rubbish.”

The later game sees Arsene Wenger welcoming the 101st different Tottenham manager to Arsenal during his tenure and I assume Mauricio Pochettino will soon be replaced with some Spurs fans already getting twitchy after the defeat to West Brom last week.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both odds-on but I think I have found a better favourite to lump on.

On derby day in the Premier League I think it will be Derby’s day in the Championship at Bolton.
