Trying to shake off fatigue for stupor Sunday

It's not quite a Super Sunday of Premier League action but there are enough plots and sub-plots in QPR versus Liverpool and Stoke-Swansea to get the punting juices flowing.

QPR intrigue me. They didn't look good enough to get promoted from the Championship for most of last season so it shouldn't be a surprise that they're struggling in the top flight.

Even so – and this may be because I've listened to too many Harry Redknapp soundbites over the years – I keep expecting them to start putting in improved performances.

If their form is going to pick up then it has to be at Loftus Road – their away record is genuinely horrible – although they're clearly underdogs this weekend.

I can't get Liverpool right this season but I can see them claiming a narrow victory and the 2-1 correct score could be the best value.

Plenty of pundits will be keeping a close eye on a hopefully refreshed Raheem Sterling.

Never mind Raheem feeling a bit tired – I'm absolutely knackered after reading all those stories about him opting out of the Estonia game. Yawn!

Swansea wingers Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge haven't shown any signs of fatigue this season and I'm taking the Swans to win at Stoke.

There's plenty of talent in the Swansea midfield with Gylfi Sigurdsson confident after his matchwinning display for Iceland against Holland.

Stoke's pre-season optimism has lasted about as long as most of my ante-post bets and they've already lost at home to Aston Villa and Leicester.

Swansea look a slightly better side than either of those two and they're worth backing to take three points on Sunday.

Having said that, there's a chance that the game at the Britannia could be a goalless shocker. Then Sky Sports will have to rebrand Super Sunday as Stupor Sunday.
