Thrilling Championship battle has got me scratching my head
I’M starting to wish the Championship would stop fluttering its eyelashes at me.
A tasty Friday night coupon has got me wondering about the division again. And changing my mind about who will win the division. Again.
I’ve had several cracks at the Championship winner this season, but throwing more darts than Phil Taylor is not a punting strategy which has served me well in the past.
I’m starting to like Norwich’s chances of a charge but I’m going to resist having an outright chunk on them – I really don’t want a situation where I’ve backed the current top six but then Nottingham Forest come from nowhere and win the league. Actually, I think I might have backed Forest at some point.
Instead, I’m going to side with Norwich to see off Brighton, who have won three of their last four home matches but look overrated for this one.
The Canaries are flying with just one defeat in 12 and they look more fired up than Delia Smith during her famous half-time announcement a decade ago.
But back to that thrilling title race. Even if Brighton win all of their remaining matches and everyone else loses all of theirs, the Seagulls would still be a point short of the playoffs.
Hmm, not sure I can totally rule them out, though. What about points deductions?
I’ll stick ’em on the longlist.
