Always-entertaining Klopp is such a card
IT’S coming to something when Liverpool v Man Utd isn’t the talking point of the Premier League weekend. I mean, the TV pundits will hype it up for all it’s worth, but all eyes are on the likes of Arsenal, Man City, Tottenham and Leicester right now, and these two are a bit of a sideshow.
The always-entertaining Jurgen Klopp tried to inject a bit of life into proceedings by apparently comparing Sir Alex Ferguson to John Lennon. It made for great headlines and had me wondering which Beatles songs he was going to cleverly weave in to sum up United’s plight. Help? Yesterday? Fixing A Hole? Here Comes The Sun?
No, nothing fun like that at all, It turns out all he said was: “Maybe he is the greatest ever, the John Lennon of football or something.” Hmm, right.
Well, you’ve still got to have a bet and this game used to be a good one for cards, but even that might be petering out.
Maybe there just isn’t the edge there any more, but there were just three yellows shown when the teams met at the start of the season. They’d been good for at least double that in the last five meetings. So I’ll go under the bookings, but because I can never bear to watch a game when I’m backing unders I’ll have to find something else to do. Maybe I’ll get by with a little help from my friends, go on a magical mystery tour, etc, etc.
