Troubled Black Cats 7-2 to be relegated
ADAM JOHNSON was arrested on suspicion of having sex with an underage girl and Sunderland have suspended the England international while police investigations are ongoing.
The Black Cats, who are away at relegation rivals Hull on Tuesday, are 7-2 with Coral and Paddy Power to drop out of the Premier League.
Johnson is Sunderland’s joint-leading Premier League goalscorer with four goals this season.
Sunderland have 25 points and Sporting Index’s total points expectancy is 35.5-37 which should be enough for survival if Gus Poyet’s side that mark.
Bet365 are evens that the team who finish 18th will eventually accumulate no more than 32 points and it is 100-1 that at least 39 points are needed to survive.
Poyet is 11-4 with Betfair to be the next top-flight boss to leave his current position, but Sam Allardyce is the favourite in that market at 9-4 with Ladbrokes and Hills. No more managers to leave is available at 5-1 with Betway.
Ladbrokes go 6-4 that Allardyce leaves West Ham before the end of the season with the majority of Hammers supporters keen for a change at the top.
It’s unclear whether Manchester City fans are demanding similar action against Manuel Pellegrini with Paddy Power quoting the Chilean at 20-1 to be the next boss out.
Coral believe Pellegrini will get time to turn City back into a force – he is 2-5 with the Stratford-based operators to remain at the Etihad for the start of next season – while the 2014 Premier League champion is 7-4 to be axed before the 2015-16 kick-off.
