Blues boss Conte slashed for shock departure
ANTONIO CONTE has been the subject of a surprising and sensational gamble to be the next Premier League manager to leave his position.
The Chelsea boss was 33-1 on Thursday morning to be next out but ended the day as short as evens and best at 7-4 favourite with Ladbrokes. Betway pulled the market completely.
Conte took first-team training as normal in preparation for Saturday’s clash with champions Leicester at Stamford Bridge and a club insider told the Racing Post all seemed well.
But it remains to be seen whether something changed after the session, when the majority of bookmakers reported a sustained gamble. Reports from other media outlets have suggested there is nothing in the rumours but Conte continues to shorten.
As the Italian was slashed in the betting everyone else drifted.
West Ham’s Slaven Bilic went out to 6-1 while Sunderland’s David Moyes was rated a 7-1 shot.
Mark Hughes and Tony Pulis are 10-1 respectively and it’s 18-1 bar the front five with former Juventus boss Conte now heading the market.
