Bookmakers fancy Spurs in local match bet

ARSENE WENGER has never finished below Tottenham in a Premier League season but that is about to change if bookmakers have their odds correct as Arsenal head to White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Second-placed Spurs, three points superior to their north London neighbours, are 4-6 with Betway, Hills and Ladbrokes to finish above Arsenal for the first time since 1995.

The Gunners can be backed at 11-10 and today’s game could be pivotal to that particular match bet and the title race in general.

Bet365 make the Premier League winners 2-5 to collect at least 75 points, while Ladbrokes offer Leicester at 9-5 favourites with Tottenham at 11-5. Arsenal are 4-1 with a number of firms and Manchester City are 15-2.

BoyleSports will refund all losing bets on the derby, including win-draw-win, should the ball hit the crossbar at White Hart Lane and rebound back into play.

Leaders Leicester will have one eye on events in north London before their evening trip to Watford, by which time they may have lost their grip on top spot.

Jon Pryle, a Leicester fan who had £20 on the Foxes winning the title ante-post at 5,000-1, has cashed out his bet with Ladbrokes for £29,000. Pryle has kept faith in his bet at 400-1 for Leicester to finish the season in the top four.

None of the top four – Leicester, Spurs, Arsenal and City – won in midweek but it seems hugely unlikely that will be the case with Aston Villa heading to the Etihad.

Rock-bottom Villa are 7-2 with bet365 not to win another Premier League game this term and they have a daunting run-in with games at Arsenal, City and Manchester United plus home clashes with Spurs and Chelsea.

Villa’s beleaguered boss Remi Garde stormed out of his press conference yesterday and was cut by Hills from 5-2 to 7-4 to be the next Premier League manager to leave his current position.

Newcastle’s Steve McClaren is a 4-1 shot with no more managers to go a 2-1 shot.
