Bookmakers fancy United to sneak through
MANCHESTER UNITED have left themselves with plenty of work to do on matchday six of the Champions League but bookmakers are backing the Red Devils to qualify for the knockout stages of Europe’s elite competition.
Louis van Gaal’s side are as short as 4-7 to progress to the last 16 despite Wednesday’s goalless stalemate with PSV Eindhoven, although Hills are prepared to lay 5-6 about United squeezing through to the next phase.
If PSV beat CSKA Moscow in Eindhoven on December 8 then United will have to take maximum points from their difficult trip to Wolfsburg. If the Dutch side draw then United will have to match that result against the Wolves.
Manchester City, who lost 1-0 away to Juventus, are already certain of a place in the knockout stages but United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all sweating before the final round of fixtures.
Bet365 are 5-1 that none of the trio drop down into the Europe League, it is 5-4 one ends up in the secondary competition and 6-4 for two of them. All three can be backed at 12-1.
