Layers not expecting Lampard to stay for long

MANUEL PELLEGRINI has said it is too early to say whether Frank Lampard will remain at Manchester City beyond his initial loan spell but bookmakers cannot see the former England international playing a telling part come the end of the season.

Hills make Lampard 7-1 to play in City’s final match of the season with the 36-year-old expected to join new MLS club New York City FC in January.

Lampard grabbed the equaliser against Chelsea on Sunday and then bagged twice in Wednesday’s 7-0 defeat of Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.
