Boro boss backed to make early exit
IT’S odds-on that the next Premier League manager to leave his current club will be based in the north-east but it may not necessarily be David Moyes.
The Sunderland gaffer had been a warm order to get the boot until Friday morning and, while he remains favourite, Moyes has drifted to 7-4 with Middlesbrough’s Aitor Karanka now as low as 2-1 and a best-priced 3-1 with Betfair and Coral.
Karanka takes his struggling side to Arsenal on Saturday probably fearing the worst given the Gunners’ goalscoring form and this is a tricky period for the ambitious promoted outfit.
After next week’s home date with Bournemouth, Boro face a nightmare November with a clash with Chelsea at the Riverside sandwiched between trips to leaders Manchester City and champions Leicester.
There is also an international break in November, which is always a nervous time for those managers feeling the heat and Karanka could do with a result against Bournemouth next week if, as expected, things go wonky at the Emirates.
Bournemouth will be looking to become the first team this season to beat Tottenham in the Premier League and bet365 make midfielder Jack Wilshere 25-1 to be sent off.
Wilshere, on loan from Arsenal, has never hidden his disdain for Tottenham and the feeling is mutual among Spurs fans. The injury-hit 24-year-old is 11-1 with Betfred to be man of the match.
