British duo evens to confirm top-two places

JAMIE VARDY looks set to get a starting chance for England against Slovakia and he is 15-8 with Hills and Ladbrokes to take full advantage by scoring in St-Etienne on Monday.

The Leicester forward, who notched off the bench in Thursday’s 2-1 victory over Wales,  has also jumped to the head of the queue in terms of being England’s top goalscorer at Euro 2016.

Vardy is 11-4 with fellow super-sub Daniel Sturridge at 3-1. Previous market leader, Harry Kane, who could well be dropped, is out to 11-2 with Coral to take the Three Lions honours and skipper Wayne Rooney is 8-1.

Roy Hodgson has the luxury of selecting Vardy but Arsene Wenger could well miss out on that pleasure after the Arsenal manager admitted he expects the 29-year-old to remain with the Premier League champions rather than make the switch to the Emirates.

It’s a big night for all of the Group B sides as none of them have secured their place in the knockout phase but the quartet remain in the last-16 hunt.

England and Wales sit first and second respectively in the table and that eventual dual forecast is evens with Coral, with Hodgson’s side at 3-10 to win the group and face a best third-place finisher next up on Saturday.

Pessimistic punters can get 100-1 with bet365 that England suffer a group-stage elimination, while Wales, still downbeat after losing to their rivals in Lens, should be comforted by odds of 2-7 with Sky Bet to go through.

Bet365 rate Wales 7-2 to fall at the first hurdle and a point against Russia should be enough to go through with even a defeat not certain to be terminal to their hopes of making the next round.
