Chelsea 4-11 to lift the Capital One Cup
CHELSEA are 4-11 with bet365 to win the Capital One Cup after Branislav Ivanovic scored in extra-time to gave them a 2-1 aggregate victory over Liverpool in the semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge.
In an incedent-packed first half Diego Costa was lucky not to get a red card after he appeared to stamp on Emre Can, although the Chelsea striker was on the wrong end of a decision minutes later when he went down in the penalty area under a challenge from Martin Skrtel only for referee Michael Oliver to signal a goal kick.
The two teams continued to trade blows in the second half but both Belgian goalkeepers were in stunning form and 90 minutes of end-to-end action somehow finished goalless.
However, the deadlock was broken just four minutes into extra-time when Ivanovic powered home a header from short range after Mario Balotelli failed to pick him up from a set piece.
The Blues, who lead the Premier League by five points, are 4-6 to finish the season with two trophies.
