Chelsea friendless for Anfield visit
THE gamble on Liverpool beating Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday shows no sign of stopping with the 8-11 snapped up yesterday leaving the Premier League leaders at only 7-10 to beat the Blues.
Liverpool had been 11-10 for the win prior to Jose Mourinho claiming he would field a weakened team with Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico top of his priority list and Chelsea continue to drift with 9-2 available about an away win.
It will be fascinating to see to what extremes Mourinho is prepared to rotate with the club still having an outside chance of claiming the title.
There has been a suggestion that third-choice goalkeeper Hilario could start at Anfield ahead of Mark Schwarzer and bet365 make Chelsea 16-1 to keep clean sheets on Sunday and Wednesday with Petr Cech ruled out for the season.
Defeat at Anfield followed by Champions League elimination would turn the heat on Mourinho, who was the subject of a small gamble to fill the Manchester United managerial vacancy but he is still as large as 14-1 with Coral despite being as low as 7-1 elsewhere.
Louis van Gaal remains the odds-on favourite and Hills are 2-1 from 3-1 that United appoint their next manager in May with July 6-4 from 5-4.
