Chelsea striker Costa given three-match ban
DIEGO COSTA has been banned for three matches by the Football Association for his stamp on Emre Can in Tuesday's League Cup semi-final second leg.
The Chelsea striker, who has scored 17 Premier League goals this season, will miss Saturday's humdinger against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge and must also sit out the clashes against Aston Villa (away) and Everton (home).
Chelsea have drifted to 23-20 to beat City as they aim to build on their five-point advantage at the summit. The champions can be backed at 11-4 to narrow the gap at the top to just two points.
