Croatia 8-1 for glory after stunning Spain
Croatia have been slashed from 22-1 to 8-1 to win Euro 2016 after coming from behind to beat Spain 2-1 in Bordeaux on Tuesday night.
Alvaro Morata's seventh minute tap-in had got Spain off to the perfect start but Croatia, who had made five changes to the side which drew 2-2 with Czech Republic on Friday, responded with a goal in each half from Nikola Kalinic and Ivan Perisic to overhaul Vicente del Bosque's side at the top of Group D.
Spain, who had a Sergio Ramos penalty saved while the score was 1-1, slipped to second place and will now face a last-16 clash with Italy at the Stade de France on Monday.
At no stage did the Iberians look comfortable and they have moved across to the toughest side of the draw which includes Germany, France and England.
France were the tournament favourites on Tuesday night at 23-5 with Germany available at 5-1 and Spain at 29-5.
Northern Ireland were guaranteed a place in the last 16 as one of the four best third-placed teams after Turkey won 2-0 against the Czechs to climb from fourth to third in Group D.
