CSKA draw leaves Citizens in trouble
MANCHESTER CITY have been pushed out to 25-1 to win the Champions League after throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.
Things could have been worse had group rivals Roma beaten Bayern Munich but the Italians were thrashed 7-1.
Even so, City don't have an easy task to qualify from Group E and are 8-11 with Betfred to reach the knockout stages, while it was a different story for Chelsea, who are 6-1 for glory after strolling to a 6-0 victory over Maribor.
Sergio Aguero rewarded those who had backed him to score first at 7-2 by notching City's opener and James Milner tapped in another before the break.
But CSKA fought back with a 65th-minute Seydou Doumbia goal before Aleksandar Kolarov gave away an unfortunate penalty, which Bebars Natcho tucked away in the 86th minute. City had been 4-7 to win the match before the 5pm kick-off.
It wasn't a good night for bookmakers with the goals raining down - a one-night record of 40 - as favourites Barcelona, Shakhtar, Porto, Bayern, Schalke, Paris St-Germain and Chelsea all won, leaving only City to let down punters' accumulators.
Bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: "We were pleased with the City draw but most accumulators were made up of the 7.45pm fixtures, so it wiped the grins off our faces when all seven of the later favourites won."
