Eagles swoop for vital Premier League win

PREMIER LEAGUE champions Leicester slipped into the relegation zone and are 2-1 to suffer demotion after Crystal Palace beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at Selhurst Park to boost their own chances of staying in the top flight.

Palace are out to 5-4 from 4-5 to finish in the bottom three following the crucial win over one of their main relegation rivals with January signing Patrick van Aanholt scoring the only goal as the Eagles joined powder-puff Boro on 22 points.

Middlesbrough are 11-10 to go straight back down to the Sky Bet Championship at the first attempt and Hull are 10-11 to do likewise after they were pegged back in a 1-1 draw with Burnley.

Tom Huddlestone’s penalty had looked to have given Hull a huge victory but Michael Keane’s equaliser means the Tigers are in the bottom three.

Burnley are ten points clear of the dreaded drop and are a step closer to staying in the division.

The same cannot be said for rock-bottom Sunderland, who having pulled off many great escapes in the past, look doomed this time.

It was an unhappy return to Goodison Park for former Everton boss David Moyes as his Black Cats outfit suffered a 2-0 loss on Merseyside. Sunderland are 1-6 to be relegated.

Idrissa Gueye and Romelu Lukaku hit the net with the Belgian moving alongside Alexis Sanchez on 17 Premier League goals for the season.

Bournemouth may well be dragged into trouble and are 6-1 to be relegated following a 2-1 loss at West Brom.

Josh King had given the Cherries the perfect start but defenders Craig Dawson and Gareth McAuley bagged for the Baggies.

Swansea are 3-1 shots to finish in the bottom three as they lost 3-1 at leaders Chelsea.

Fernando Llorente had cancelled out Cesc Fabregas’s opener but second-half goals from Pedro and Diego Costa saw Chelsea kick 11 points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

Chelsea are 1-7 to win the Premier League and it’s going to take a collapse from Antonio Conte's men for them not to be crowned champions with 12 matches remaining.
