English quintet 11-10 to qualify for knockouts

ENGLISH clubs made a solid start to Champions League action but it is still odds-against with Coral and Ladbrokes that the five sides will all progress to the last 16.

Both bookmakers offer a Premier League clean sweep at 11-10 despite Liverpool, who drew 2-2 with Sevilla at Anfield, the only side to drop points.

The Reds are 10-11 to top Group E, while Manchester City are 12-1 to win the Champions League after thumping Feyenoord  4-0 in Rotterdam.

Tottenham’s 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund saw them cut to 8-15 by Hills to reach the knockout stage and in the same group Cristiano Ronaldo is 3-1 from 5-1 to finish as the top goalscorer after bagging twice in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win against Apoel at the Bernabeu in a match which saw the home crowd jeer Welshman Gareth Bale.

Alvaro Morata, rested for Chelsea’s easy 6-0 stroll over Qarabag on Tuesday, should return to the starting 11 for Sunday’s London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Morata’s three Premier League goals have all come from headers and he is 2-5 with Betway to score his next top-flight goal with his foot and 7-4 to notch with his head.

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton will miss a significant  period after having surgery on a shoulder injury. Nick Pope is the Clarets’ reserve custodian.
