English sides flop in Europe once again

IT was another shocking night for English clubs in the Champions League after Arsenal and Chelsea both suffered damaging defeats on matchday two of Europe’s elite competition.

Arsenal remain pointless in Group F following a woeful 3-2 home loss to Olympiakos in a result that saw Hills push them out to 5-4 to qualify for the knockout phase and 4-7 to suffer a group-stage exit.

Next up for Arsenal is the small matter of a double header against Bayern Munich, who beat Dinamo Zagreb 5-0. Red-hot Robert Lewandowski grabbed a hat-trick.

Chelsea lost 2-1 away to Porto and now face a fight to qualify. The Blues meet Dynamo Kiev next and the Ukrainians were 2-0 winners away to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

However, despite the defeat Chelsea are 1-8 to qualify with Hills but Coral pushed Jose Mourinho’s men out to 16-1 from 11-1 to win the competition.

Arsenal are 33-1 and Ladbrokes reacted by quoting Arsene Wenger at 40-1 from 66-1 in the Premier League sack race and the Frenchman is 8-1 to leave the Emirates during the season.
