Luis Enrique backed to replace Conte at Chelsea

DESPITE briefing journalists that there were no plans to change their manager and despite Antonio Conte thanking the Chelsea fans for their support in recent tough times the betting still suggests the Italian boss will soon be leaving Stamford Bridge.

Conte is only 1-4 with Paddy Power and Betfair to be the next Premier League manager to leave his current position, while Coral have reported further support for Luis Enrique to be the next man in for the champions.

Enrique, out of the game since leaving Barcelona at the end of last season, is 6-4 from 2-1 to replace Conte whenever it is that Chelsea have a managerial vacancy.

Chelsea face West Brom on Monday and anything other than maximum points will see further flak coming Conte’s way.

The champions will have to do without Alvaro Morata, who remains sidelined, but Olivier Giroud is in line to start and Pedro and Andreas Christensen are recovering well from their minor injury problems.

Chelsea could start that match outside of the Champions League qualifying positions and are 5-6 with bet365 to finish in the top four this season with Manchester City (no offers), Manchester United (1-12), Liverpool (2-9) and Tottenham (4-6) all seen as more likely candidates. Arsenal are into 6-1 with Sky Bet.

That’s why there is so much riding on Saturday's ’s north London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal at Wembley before United (at Newcastle) and Liverpool (at Southampton) have slightly awkward away trips on Sunday.

Fifth-placed Spurs could jump up to third with a win over their local rivals and bet365 are 1-6 Tottenham finish above Arsenal, who are four points back, and 4-1 in the seasonal matchbet.
