Everton out of Europe after Dynamo defeat
EVERTON are out of the Europa League at the last-16 stage after last night’s 5-2 loss away to Dynamo Kiev saw them fall to a 6-4 aggregate defeat.
Everton went into the second leg with a 2-1 advantage but Andrei Yarmolenko, 7-1 to score first, put the home side in front on the night after 21 minutes.
Romelu Lukaku put Everton back in front in the tie eight minutes later but Lukasz Teodorczyk and Miguel Veloso sent Dynamo into the break 3-1 ahead on the night.
Vitorino Antunes inflicted further pain after 76 minutes and although Phil Jagielka got one back for Everton with eight minutes remaining it was too little, too late.
