Everton still favourites to land Hart from City

EVERTON'S interest in signing Joe Hart from Manchester City has reportedly cooled in recent days due to the player’s high wages, but he remains odds-on to move to Goodison Park before the end of the transfer window.

The Toffees had been 4-7 to seal a deal during the summer window, but they were eased to 4-6 with Hart 2-1 from 11-4 to stay at the Etihad.

Merseyside rivals Liverpool – lacking goalkeeping depth due to an injury to summer signing Loris Karius – are 7-1 shots, with  Seville 11-1.

Aston Villa’s summer spending has continued with a £2.5m deal for Leicester right-back Ritchie De Laet.

The Belgian, who has signed a three-year contract, is the third defender to join the Villans this summer following James Chester and Tommy Elphick.

Chris Coleman has named a 23-man Wales squad for next month’s World Cup qualifier at home to Moldova, but he was unable to select Aaron Ramsey and Jonny Williams, who miss out with respective hamstring and ankle injuries.
