Fading Foxes just 11-4 for drop after United loss

PREMIER LEAGUE champions Leicester are just 11-4 to be relegated after a 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United left the Foxes only one point clear of the drop zone.

Goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic just before half-time and Juan Mata shortly after the break put United in complete control and bet365 are already totting up the potential cost if Leicester go down.

The firm’s opening quote of 50-1 about the champions being relegated was snapped up last summer and they are facing liabilities of more than £1m if Claudio Ranieri’s men end up in the bottom three.

Bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: “After the weekend results, punters could be celebrating another big-priced Leicester winner, albeit at a fraction of the odds of last season’s title success.”

Hills make Ranieri 6-4 favourite to be the next top-flight manager to leave his job while he is 5-4 to have gone before the start of next season. Ladbrokes offer 250-1 about the Foxes winning the Champions League and being relegated from the Premier League.

United took advantage of Saturday’s defeats for rivals Arsenal and Liverpool and they are 6-5 to finish in the top four.

Manchester City made hard work of landing odds of 2-9 at home to Swansea, needing an injury-time winner from new star Gabriel Jesus to seal a 2-1 victory.

Jesus had opened the scoring early on and City were trading at 1-28 in-play when Gylfi Sigurdsson equalised in the 81st minute. The favourites were out to 10-1 before Jesus prodded home their late winner and bet365 offer 5-2 that the Brazilian youngster scores at least ten Premier League goals this season.

Swansea are 13-8 to be relegated, behind 4-11 favourites Sunderland, Hull (8-11), Crystal Palace (11-10) and Middlesbrough (6-4).

Despite the Manchester clubs’ victories, Chelsea remain in control of the title race. The Blues are 1-7 favourites, with City 14-1 and Tottenham 16-1. United are 80-1 for the title while Arsenal and Liverpool are out to 66-1.

Ibrahimovic’s goal at Leicester was his 15th of the league campaign and he is 10-3 with Paddy Power – the same price as Diego Costa – for the Golden Boot.

Harry Kane is a narrow 11-4 favourite with 16-goal leader Romelu Lukaku of Everton at 4-1.
