Foxes falter as 7-2 Hull claim shock opening win
Leicester suffered just three defeats on their way to the Premier League title last season but the Foxes lost their opening game 2-1 to ante-post relegation favourites Hull on Saturday.
The Tigers, promoted from the Sky Bet Championship in May, had been 7-2 to start their top-flight campaign with a victory over the champions.
There was some confusion over Hull’s opening goal, with Adama Diomande and Abel Hernandez combining to hook the ball in after a corner. Diomande, a 9-1 shot to open the scoring, was awarded the goal officially but Ladbrokes also paid out first-scorer bets on striker Hernandez as a winner.
Defeat for well-backed Leicester meant a good start to the season for bookmakers and favourite-backers were out of luck in the 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League too.
Odds-on shots Southampton were held to a 1-1 draw by Watford, who had Ben Watson sent off, and there were also 1-1 draws between Everton and Tottenham and Middlesbrough and Stoke.
Two more favourites, Burnley and Crystal Palace, both slipped to 1-0 home defeats to Swansea and West Brom.
England goalkeeper Joe Hart was left out of Manchester City's clash with Sunderland as Pep Guardiola opted for Willy Caballero instead.
Hills go 8-11 that Hart joins Everton before the end of the summer transfer window. He is 11-10 to still be at City, with Arsenal (12-1) and Liverpool (20-1) also possible destinations for the keeper.
