Given fancied to return for Trap's Ireland

SHAY GIVEN is considering coming out of international retirement and Paddy Power believe the goalkeeper will return for Ireland’s next World Cup qualifier.

The Irish take on Sweden on March 21 and Given is 8-15 to be named in Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad and 11-8 to miss out with the Aston Villa stopper seemingly open to a recall.

"It is something I am looking at at the minute to be honest” Given, who has won 125 caps, told the Irish Examiner.

Caen v St-Etienne

Home Win Draw Away Win
Key stats
  • St-Etienne have conceded only two goals in their last nine league games – an own goal and a penalty
Expert verdict
St-Etienne's 12-game unbeaten run in Ligue 1 came to an end last weekend as Zlatan Ibrahimovic's penalty earned PSG a 1-0 win. However, lowly Caen are far less intimidating opponents than PSG and St-Etienne should have few problems condemning their hosts to a seventh defeat in 11 home league matches.
