Gunners stunned by
15-2 French raiders
ARSENAL are out to 66-1 for the Champions League after they were beaten 3-1 at home to Monaco in their last-16 first-leg tie last night.
It was a terrible night for the Gunners who were 1-3 to qualify from the tie and 8-15 to win at the Emirates.
They are now out to 4-1 with Betway to make the last eight and 5-4 to win in the south of France in the return leg on March 17.
The Frenchmen are 1-6 to finish off the Gunners on home soil and 2-1 to do it with a victory. They had been 15-2 to leave London victorious last night.
It was plain sailing for the visitors who led at the break through Geoffrey Kondogbia before Dimitar Berbatov added a second on 53 minutes.
Arsenal rarely threatened but an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain strike on 90 minutes looked to give the Gunners some hope.
However, more sloppy defending let in Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco to restore Monaco’s two-goal lead just moments later.
It continued a bad week for English sides in the competition following Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday and after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at PSG last week, Hills go 15-8 that none of the English sides go through. It’s 4-6 that one side do.
The firm make Arsene Wenger 1-8 to still be in charge at the start of next season and 9-2 not to be.
In the night’s other match Bayer Leverkusen beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 at home.
