Gunners go through following penalty drama
ARSENAL are 1-4 with Boylesports and Ladbrokes to win the FA Cup after beating Wigan 4-2 on penalties in their semi-final at Wembley.
The Gunners, who had been 8-15 to win in 90 minutes, were on the verge of suffering a shock exit before Per Mertesacker equalised Jordi Gomez’s second-half penalty and it was the Premier League club who held their nerve in the battle from 12 yards to book a final berth against either Hull or Sheffield United.
Gary Caldwell and Jack Collison had spot-kicks saved by Lukasz Fabianski as Arsenal scored all four of their attempts to move a step closer to ending their nine-year trophy drought.
