Hat-trick hero Kane Golden Boot favourite

The chase for the Premier League title seems to be heading into a one-horse race as Chelsea have stormed 11 points clear with 12 games remaining, but the Golden Boot battle is heating up after this weekend's matches.

Harry Kane's hat-trick against mid-table Stoke saw the Tottenham hitman promoted to Golden Boot favourite with bookmakers and he is looking sharper than ever.

Kane, with 17 Premier League goals this season, is quoted at 7-4 by Hills to retain the Golden Boot and joins Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku at the top of the leaderboard.

The England international shot out the blocks with five goals in his first four games but wasn't able to build on his momentum with a stop-start run of games due to injuries.

With a comfortable looking run-in for Spurs, the 23-year-old will look to continue is fine form and edge ahead of his rivals, espescially with a clash against Lukaku's Everton on Sunday.

Lukaku, also on 17 this campaign, has produced some fine goalscoring performances, netting four past Bournemouth and could be the best value bet at 5-1 with bet365.

Everton's season hasn't engaged many spectators with under-achieveing results but Lukaku has carried them all season.

Joining them at the top is Arsenal and Chilean international Alexis Sanchez who has been the standout star in what has been a lacklustre and typical Arsenal season.

After a horrific performance against German champions Bayern Munich and sloppy Premier League efforts who knows where Arsenal would actually be without their goalscoring talisman.

Sanchez, who is 5-1 will have to repeat his early form if he is to claim the trophy.

Diego Costa is another top contender as Antonio Conte has reinvigourated him back into his old self, netting 16 league goals for the leaders and he doesn't look like stopping there.

With his strength and power and determination to stop at nothing to find the back of the net, bookmakers make him second favourite at
4-1.

Manchester United's EFL cup hero Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been lethal all season, scoring 15 Premier League and 26 in all competitions and he is 11-2 with bet365 and Sky Bet to add the Golden Boot to the long list of personal honours.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is another challenger at 16-1.

Fitness and Gabriel Jesus's form has hindered Aguero's progress under Pep Guardiola with 11 league goals this season. However, with the long-term injury to Jesus, Aguero's status as the forgotten man is over and he could yet come with a late run.

The sacred prize has been held by many quality footballers over the years but there is no doubt the 2016-17 battle could be one of the most exciting races of all time.
