Hodgson likely to be next in at Crystal Palace
FRANK DE BOER obliged for those who backed him at 16-1 in the Premier League sack race after he was axed by Crystal Palace and Roy Hodgson is expected to be the replacement at Selhurst Park.
Hodgson will come in with Palace pointless and goalless after four Premier League matches with the Eagles the shortest priced team in the relegation market at 5-4.
The next man in at Selhurst faces a tough start with Palace hosting Southampton on Saturday before finishing the month with daunting away fixtures in Manchester against both City and United.
Palace are 9-4 to beat Southampton and Betway offer 2-1 that the Eagles remain pointless going into October.
Should Hodgson get the gig Betway rate him 4-7 to last the season at Selhurst and 5-4 to have departed before the final match of the 2017-18 campaign.
The probable appointment of the former England manager received a lukewarm reception from bookmakers with Palace’s relegation odds hardly moving.
“The hiring of a Sam Allardyce or Tony Pulis would possibly have seen us push the odds out but we are staying exactly as we are with Hodgson,” said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly.
Palace are 4-6 with Sky Bet to remain a top-flight club regardless of who the new manager is after De Boer’s tenure lasted only 77 days.
