Juventus drift for Serie A title after Conte exit
THE Old Lady is coming to terms with a shock divorce.
Well-respected manager Antonio Conte left Juventus on Wednesday, reportedly by mutual consent, although many are speculating about why the separation has happened.
Juve have already found a new man but the club's fans are not likely to be happy to see former Milan boss Max Allegri at the helm and bookmakers aren't impressed either, shunting out the Bianconeri from odds-on quotes to 11-10 to win Serie A this season.
Conte is Paddy Power's 3-10 favourite to be next Italy manager having been as big as 20-1 on Tuesday, but even if he takes the Azzurri role that won't necessarily indicate that he left Juve primarily to do so.
Many have speculated that the cause of his departure is a lack of backing from the club's owners, particularly over the potential sale of ace midfielders Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba.
It's hard to see the club cashing in on Pogba, the hottest prospect in world football, but the chances of Vidal moving to Manchester United have hugely increased - the Chilean star has been slashed by Betfred from 4-6 to 1-6 to be at Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window.
