Kane and Hazard look set for PFA awards
THE PFA player of the year nominations were released yesterday with Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, David De Gea and Philippe Coutinho making it on to the six-man shortlists for the players’ player and young player of the year awards.
Hazard is the hot 1-7 favourite to win the senior award with Kane a 10-3 chance and De Gea 20-1. The young player of the year award looks even less competitive with Kane 1-10 and Hazard 7-1.
Jurgen Klopp continues to be heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, who are 5-4 with Hills to be his next employers.
City are attracting over half of the bets on Hills’ book, although Klopp will not be short of alternatives with Real Madrid and Napoli priced at 4-1 and 5-1.
Barcelona are 12-1, a price which reflects the impressive job being done by Luis Enrique who steered them to a 3-1 success at Paris St-Germain on Wednesday.
Barca are 1-100 to reach the Champions League semi-finals for a seventh time in eight seasons and are 6-4 to lift the trophy.
Watford kept pace with the Championship’s title-chasing pack with a 3-1 victory at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, moving them up to within one point of leaders Bournemouth.
The Hornets are 5-1 to win the division while the Cherries are 4-6 favourites.
