Kane makes an instant impact for England
SUBSTITUTE Harry Kane scored just seconds into his England debut on Friday night as the Three Lions kept up their perfect record in Euro 2016 qualifying with a convincing 4-0 victory over Lithuania at Wembley.
The Tottenham striker started on the bench and captain Wayne Rooney opened the scoring with a header after just seven minutes.
Danny Welbeck added another just before half-time with a deflected header and Raheem Sterling scored his first England goal from short range after the break.
Ladbrokes reported a flood of bets on Kane to score the next goal as he prepared to take to the field with 20 minutes to go and he instantly rewarded his backers by heading in Sterling’s cross for England’s fourth.
Elsewhere in Group E, Slovenia beat San Marino 6-0 while Switzerland crushed Estonia 3-0.
England have won five out of five in qualifying and Roy Hodgson’s men are 7-2 with bet365 to win all ten of their group matches, while the same firm make Kane a 7-2 shot to be his country’s top scorer in the finals.
