Kane set to captain England at World Cup
Gareth Southgate has given his star striker Harry Kane the responsibility of captaining England at the World Cup finals in Russia.
The Tottenham forward, who has scored 12 goals from his 23 caps, emerged as the the 8-11 favourite with Betway to be made skipper following Southgate's squad announcement last Wednesday.
Kane first captained his country in last summer’s 2-2 draw with Scotland and has gone on to wear the armband three times.
Southgate opted for youth over experience with his squad selection, which included two uncapped players, leaving Kane as the obvious choice to lead the Three Lions' World Cup charge.
