Scunthorpe still top table despite Morecambe draw
LEICESTER and Wolves should soon be crowned champions in their respective Football League divisions but the League Two battle seems destined to go to the wire with none of the top three able to win on Friday.
Leaders Scunthorpe, pegged back late on by Morecambe in a 1-1 draw, are 1-2 to hold on to top spot with three matches remaining.
Chesterfield shared the spoils with Exeter and Rochdale were hammered 3-0 by Southend to continue their dodgy form at just the wrong time.
The top three are separated by only two points and fourth-placed Fleetwood are still very much in the promotion picture following a 2-1 success away to Cheltenham which left them just three points off that vital third place.
Things are just as tight at the bottom apart from Torquay who need a miracle to survive. Wycombe and Northampton played out a 1-1 draw with Wanderers 13-8 to drop out of the Football League.
Wolves need one more win to seal the League One title after a thrilling 6-4 success over Rotherham, and who sneaks into the final Championship play-off spot is developing into a cracking fight after Brighton, Reading and Bournemouth all dropped points meaning Ipswich will go sixth if they win at Watford on Saturday.
