Leicester slashed for Champions League glory

LEICESTER sprang a huge surprise by winning the Premier League and have been cut from 100-1 to 40-1 by several firms to win the Champions League at the first attempt after being drawn alongside Porto, Bruges and Copenhagen in Group G.

The Foxes, who are 13-8 favourites to win their section and 1-2 with bet365 to reach the knockout stages, can be pleased with the draw but Manchester City may be less happy after joining Barcelona, Borussia Monchengladbach and Celtic in Group C.

City’s matches with Barcelona will hold special significance for Pep Guardiola but Hills expect the English side to struggle and go 1-2 that they secure fewer than two points against the Catalans.

Guardiola’s charges are 1-2 with Betfred to reach the knockout stages and a best-priced 14-1 from 12-1 to lift the trophy, while Barcelona are the 7-2 tournament favourites despite landing a tougher draw than they might have hoped for.

Barca are the 2-5 group favourites, while City are 3-1.
Celtic couldn’t have had it much tougher. They are 9-1 to progress and 750-1 to be crowned European champions for the first time since 1967.

Arsenal are 1-5 with bet365 to reach the last 16 for the 17th consecutive season after being selected in Group A alongside Paris St-Germain, Basel and Ludogorets Razgrad.
The Gunners are 2-1 second favourites to win the section and 33-1 to win the tournament.

Finishing top and enhancing the chances of facing a weaker round of 16 opponent will surely be a priority for Arsene Wenger, who has failed to lead his side to the quarter-finals in any of the last six seasons.

Tottenham were quarter-finalists when they last played Champions League football in the 2010-11 campaign and will be dreaming of doing something similar after avoiding the big guns.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been trimmed from 66-1 to 50-1 on the outright market after being drawn in Group E alongside CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco.

Despite being the third seeds in the section, Spurs are 7-4 favourites to win the group and 4-11 with bet365 to qualify. Leverkusen are the 9-4 sectional second favourites.

All four English teams are odds-on to reach the last 16 and bet365 offer 9-4 that they all make it through the knockout stages.

City are Hills’s 6-4 favourites to progress furthest of the British teams with Arsenal 9-4, Tottenham 11-4, Leicester 11-2 and Celtic 50-1.

Holders Real Madrid face a couple of heavyweight group-stage matches with Borussia Dortmund and are just 11-2 to retain the trophy.

And there will be an early clash of the titans in Group D where Bayern Munich – the 4-1 tournament second favourites – get the chance to exact revenge over Atletico Madrid, who knocked them out in last season’s semi-final.

Bayern are 1-2 to win the group, which also features PSV Eindhoven and Rostov, while Atletico are 21-10.
