Lingard stunner wins FA Cup for United
MANCHESTER UNITED, who had been 8-1 to win the FA Cup on third-round day, lifted the trophy at Wembley as their ten men battled back to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 after extra-time.
Substitute Jesse Lingard’s sensational strike won United the cup after the match had finished 1-1 in normal time with all the action coming late on.
Palace sub Jason Puncheon broke the deadlock on 78 minutes but their joy lasted just three minutes before Juan Mata equalised.
Puncheon, who replaced Yohan Cabaye, was 16-1 to score first, while 22-1 poke Chris Smalling was the first man cautioned by referee Mark Clattenburg.
Smalling was later dismissed for a second yellow card in the first half of extra-time.
The Red Devils are 11-8 with bet365 to win a major trophy next season and 8-1 for the Europa League, while it was not only United supporters who were celebrating Saturday’s result.
West Ham have also qualified for the Europa League and bet365 make them 33-1 to win that competition next season.
