Liverpool reportedly close to signing Mignolet

LIVERPOOL’S search for a new goalkeeper has reportedly led them to the brink of signing Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet even though the Merseysiders were still 4-9 to sign Stoke cat Asmir Begovic yesterday.

With Pepe Reina highly likely to join Barcelona this summer, Mignolet is set to move to Anfield for a fee between £8m and £10m.

That may scupper Begovic’s hopes of a move to Liverpool, though Arsenal remains another possible destination. He is 7-2 with Paddy Power to ply his trade next at the Emirates.

Hearts have been cut to 7-4 by BetVictor to finish bottom of the SPL after they were forced to put up their entire squad for sale.

The Edinburgh club were 10-1 on Friday morning but attracted strong interest, most notably a bet of £2,000 at 3-1.

Four Hearts players – Jason Holt, Kevin McHattie, Calum Paterson and Jamie Walker – have attracted interest from Premier League and Championship sides.
