Liverpool romp to victory at West Ham

THE pressure increased on West Ham manager Slaven Bilic following a 4-1 home defeat to Liverpool.

The Reds raced into a 2-0 lead through Mohamed Salah and Joel Matip goals inside 25 minutes before Manuel Lanzini gave the Hammers hope of a comeback.

However, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain swiftly restored Liverpool’s two-goal advantage and Salah made the game safe.

Huddersfield started the season as Premier League relegation favourites but they are looking comfortable in the top flight with a 1-0 win over West Brom despite Christopher Schindler getting sent off in the second half.

Rajiv van La Parra’s goal proved to be the difference against the struggling Baggies.

Brighton are also looking at home since their promotion from the Sky Bet Championship after a 1-0 success at Swansea. Glenn Murray notched the only goal at the Liberty Stadium in a result that saw Albion move up to eighth in the Premier League.

Sean Dyche showed why he is being tipped for a move to Everton after the Burnley boss guided the Clarets to a fine 1-0 win at Southampton thanks to a header from substitute Sam Vokes.

Steve Cook scored a dramatic injury-time winner for Bournemouth in their 1-0 triumph at Newcastle.

Stoke twice came from behind to force a 2-2 draw against Leicester at the bet365 Stadium. Vicente Iborra and Riyad Mahrez put Leicester in front but Stoke pegged them back through Xherdan Shaqiri and substitute Peter Crouch.

There were three non-league giantkillings in the FA Cup with Oxford City winning away to Colchester, Maidstone doing likewise at Cheltenham and Boreham Wood beating Blackpool 2-1 at home. City were 17-2 shots, Boreham Wood 5-2 and Maidstone 3-1.
