Martinez 7-4 to lead Everton into next season

ROBERTO MARTINEZ saw his Everton side lose 4-0 at Liverpool on Wednesday and bookmakers are divided over his long-term future at the club.

Coral are going 7-4 that he remains at Goodison for the start of next season and 2-5 that he departs but Hills take a different view, offering 4-6 that he stays and 11-10 he leaves.

Defeat in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United would be a major blow and Everton have defensive problems with Seamus Coleman and Phil Jagielka struggling with injuries and Ramiro Funes Mori suspended.

Martinez needs a win to get Toffees supporters back onside but he is under huge pressure and his departure could pave the way for a sensational return for David Moyes, the 7-4 favourite in Coral’s next Everton manager market.

Moyes has also been strongly linked with Celtic and is just 6-1 in Ladbrokes’ betting on the next Swansea manager.

Current Swans boss Francesco Guidolin has been mentioned as a contender to take over as coach of the Italian national team once Antonio Conte’s contract expires this summer.

Should Guidolin move on, the job may be of interest to former Swans bosses Brendan Rodgers and Martinez, priced at 2-1 and 8-1 to be the Welsh club’s next manager.

Liverpool’s thumping win over Everton was further evidence of their improvement under Jurgen Klopp and  sparked interest in backing them for the 2016-17 Premier League title.

Bet365 have cut Liverpool from 12-1 to 10-1, while Coral are 15-2 from 10-1.
