Moyes cut to take over as the Black Cats manager
THE odds on Sunderland’s Sam Allardyce becoming the next England manager continued to shorten as Hull confirmed no approach had been made for their boss Steve Bruce.
Allardyce was an 11-2 shot to take over at the helm of the national side but was heavily backed after he had talks with the FA over the vacant role and is no bigger than 1-2 with Hills for the job, with BoyleSports as short as 1-5.
Hull boss Bruce drifted to 20-1, with 8-1 Jurgen Klinsmann and 16-1 Eddie Howe also seemingly out of the race.
Angry Sunderland have urged the FA to make a decision quickly so they can plan for the new season, and are rumoured to have targeted former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes to replace Allardyce should he move on.
Moyes was 5-2 with Paddy Power to join the Black Cats but has been cut to just 8-15 with the same firm.
Bet365 have installed Newcastle’s £10m summer signing Dwight Gayle as their 8-1 favourite to be top Sky Bet Championship scorer next season.
Coral think Manchester City are in pole position to sign Everton defender John Stones after it emerged Pep Guardiola could be ready to break the world transfer record for a defender with a £50m-plus bid, and have slashed the odds on City being his next club from evens to 1-4.
