Moyes favourite to replace sacked Sherwood

DAVID MOYES is the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Tim Sherwood, who was sacked as Aston Villa manager on Sunday.

Hills rate Moyes 2-1 to take over from Sherwood, while Ladbrokes are 10-11 that the former Manchester United and Everton manager swaps Real Sociedad for Villa Park.

Brendan Rodgers and Nigel Pearson are other managers prominent in the betting with Kevin MacDonald in the hotseat on an interim basis.

A Villa statement on their website said: “The board has monitored the performances closely all season and believes the results on the pitch were simply not good enough and that a change is imperative.”
