Heavy fog forces Lingfield to abandon
RACING at Lingfield was abandoned after only two races as heavy fog raised safety concerns for horses and jockeys.
Officials inspected conditions twice before making the decision, and clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross said on At The Races: "Ultimately the abandonment has come down to horse and rider safety.
"With concerns raised from jockeys it was a sensible decision."
The feature on the card was a £45,000 6f sprint, and Mackenzie Ross indicated the course would consider whether the race could be saved.
